Knowledge is Good

“In regard to intellectual impressions it is generally agreed that good and evil depend upon us and not upon external things. No one calls the proposition, ‘It is day’, good, or ‘It is night’, bad, or ‘Three is four’, the greatest of evils. No, they say that knowledge is good and error evil, so that good may arise even in regard to what is false; that is, the knowledge that it is false. The same ought to be true in practical life.”  –Epictetus

  1. I remember a saying ,I say it frequently to all my family I don’t know if it pertains to good or evil,I suppose it could Her saying was “A ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”A lot of people may QUOTE THIS ,MY BOYS DON’T SEE IT MY WAY ,NOT THE GRANDSONS EITHER ,THEY ARE THE MOST VULNERABLE IF YOU USE YOUR SEAT BELT AND NOT TEXT WHILE DRIVING ,MOST SURELY WILL SAVE YOUR LIFE ,HENCE THERE WAS A POUND OF CURE RIGHT THERE ?? WHY DO THEY QUESTION THAT ,THEY SAY I ONLY SEE NEGATIVE ,IT IS NOT NEGATIVE TO LOOK OUT FOR ONESELF OR LOOK AHEAD A LITTLE,IF YOU SPEND ALL YOUR MONEY ON PAYDAY ( I JUST HAPPEN TO DO THAT BECAUSE OUR NEEDS AT THE PRESENT ARE A LITTLE OVER OUR SIZE OF THE POCKET BOOK) BUT IF YOU LOOKED A HEAD A LITTLE ,YOU WON’T STARVE AT THE END OF THE MONTH

  2. An ounce of prevention…you never want to be wearing a seatbelt more than the instant you are in a wreck. The knowledge that the only thing that can stop you from a second collision inside your vehicle, or even worse outside of it, is a seatbelt is quite valuable. I would never want to learn this by experience. As for texting, I take the chance more than I’d like to admit.
